Carlsbad, CA (PRWEB) June 26, 2009 -- Chuao Chocolatier will launch its new Origins Chocolate Bar at the 55th Summer Fancy Food Show in New York in celebration of their brand legacy and family heritage. The Origins chocolate bar features premium dark chocolate from Chuao, Venezuela, the legendary cacao-growing region. It's made with a high cacao content (77%) and low sugar content, without adding extra ingredients such as vanilla and soy lecithin.

"The Origins chocolate bar represents everything I love about chocolate- the source, the heritage, the quality. It's pure rich chocolate, without the addition of vanilla or soy lecithin. Made solely from cacao mass and sugar, we are offering a look into the ancestral essence of Cacao de Chuao," says Chef Michael Antonorsi, Master Chocolatier and the Company's co-founder. "With the Origins chocolate bar, you can feel confident with each bite you are enjoying an unequaled chocolate experience while also helping to revitalize one of the world's finest growing cacao regions. We are passionate about honoring our ancestors, our family roots, and preserving the rich heritage and superior flavor of Venezuelan cacao," says Antonorsi.

"The Chuao Farm Workers Company- a collective of forty partners- share the deed & title for the plantation's 200 hectares," says Antonorsi. "Since the 16th century they have grown a very special type of cacao called "Cacao de Chuao". It is considered among the best cacao in the world, but is sadly in danger of extinction, which is why we are doing our part to help," he says. "Our Aguasanta Growth Initiative is a small step to help revitalize the industry. The program's initiatives will help preserve the ancestral cacao growing region of Venezuela and improve education for continued success of the farmers."

The 80 gram Origins chocolate bar is produced limited edition, with an SRP of $18.00. It will e available in small batches at Chuao Chocolatier cafes, online at www.chuaochocolatier.com and at hand selected gourmet retailers.
