Savory Spice Shop Announces Franchise Opportunity

Savory Spice Shop Announces Franchise Opportunity

A new concept for the franchise marketplace, Savory Spice Shop offers more than 400 herbs, spices and seasonings that are ground and blended weekly to ensure superior freshness.

Denver, CO (PRWEB) June 20, 2009 -- Savory Spice Shop, with four operating stores in the Denver metropolitan area, announced today their plans for selling franchises throughout the US. The franchisor company, Savory Franchising Team, LLC, has begun to take applications through their website at www.savoryspiceshop.com.

"We've been well received by the Denver marketplace and are excited to expand this exciting concept even further," says Mike Johnston, who with his wife, Janet, founded the first Savory Spice Shop in downtown Denver in September, 2004. Success followed and their second store was opened south of Denver in Littleton in September, 2006. In 2008, continued expansion included a store in Boulder, Colorado and a fourth in east Denver.

"The store we opened in the Lowry Town Center serves as a 'discovery' store for our franchise concept," says Mike. "The design concepts we incorporated into the Lowry store enabled us to test out our franchise assumptions for store design, costing and processes. Additionally, the other three stores incorporate the same processes which allow us great proving grounds for our new blends, spices and promotions."

A new concept for the franchise marketplace, Savory Spice Shop offers more than 400 herbs, spices and seasonings that are ground and blended weekly to ensure superior freshness. The shop, with its hundreds of jars lining the walls and bins filled with fragrant spices, helps to create a shopping experience of days past. Customers are encouraged to sample products and have packaged only the amounts they need, starting at as little as a half ounce.

"Going into this franchise venture we were concerned that our loyal Colorado customers would be disappointed that we were taking our 'Mom and Pop' shops big," says Janet. "However, after Mike and I discussed how so many people had approached us over the years with a desire to have a shop like ours, we realized that if we used a franchise model, we could selectively offer passionate people the opportunity to have their own Savory Spice Shop and create job opportunities as well. If we were selective in choosing our store locations and continued to handle our product in the same fashion as we do now, we could build a brand that everyone, including our loyal Colorado customers, could be proud of."

"With the growing trends in home cooking and an increasing number of more flavor-adventurous consumers, the retail sale of spices is predicted to cross the $3 billion mark in 2009. These trends are being enhanced with the 'dine-in at home' mentality in these trying economic times. The Savory Spice Shop franchise model will take advantage of these favorable trends and allow franchisees to tap into this new franchise venue," says Chris Clark, partner in the new franchise venture. "We have spent the last 12 months perfecting our franchise model so that our franchisee can focus on their customers. We believe we have anticipated and will supply the franchisee with the tools they need to be successful."
